Designed for each other

April 28th, 2012

Here is just one quick snapshot from Rietje and Sam's beautiful wedding at the Longboat Key Hilton Resort this past Saturday.

Sam & Rietje logo

Despite having to move to the backup plan due to stormy weather, this bride & groom took it in stride and their love for one another brightened the day for all involved.

So many gorgeous details (but what else would you expect from a talented pair of graphic artists?): birds galore - on the table numbers, custom napkins, and in the centerpieces, cheery teal blue & yellow accents, delicious mini-cupcakes, and so much more. Can't wait to share the photos by Mandy and Me Studio!

Congratulations Sam & Rietje! We loved being a part of your special day.

"One" Jessi and Will by Keren Lifrak Weddings

March 11th, 2012

One

Jessi and Will first met on a trip to the Middle East. It was only natural that world-music artist and friend of the family Yair Dalal's music would be played during the couple's walk on the aisle to their intimate, Moroccan style unification ceremony this afternoon in Venice. Photos to follow.

Brides Against Breast Cancer

February 17th, 2012

Brides against breast cancer - by Keren Lifrak

The Cancer Support Community has recently purchased Brides Against Breast Cancer, an organization that arranges for bridal gowns to be donated and then sold off at bridal shows in order to support women with breast cancer. According to the National Cancer Institute's current statistics, 12.2 percent of women born in the United States today will develop breast cancer at some time in their lives so it behooves each and every one of us to support this cause. The first Dress Dash in Sarasota will take place on March 17, 2012 from 11:00 till 8:00 at the Cancer Support Community Florida Suncaost, 5481 Communications Parkway, Sarasota, FL 34240. If you recently got married and would like to donate your dress, or if you are about to be married and looking for a designer dress at a bargain price, visit bridesagainstbreastcancer.org and see how you can help today.

Mt Dora Bed and Breakfast- Keren Lifrak

Mt. Dora Historic Inn - Keren Lifrak Weddings & Special Events

As I always seek new locations for destinations weddings, a few weeks ago, we drove to Mt. Dora, FL. Mt. Dora is quite the antique and flea market mecca. I thought I would find interesting props for event decor as well as research the local hotels and venues. What I didn't expect is this quaint B&B that we stayed in. The Mount Dora Historic Inn. The interior design wasn't all that, with a 19th century feel to it but the real gem were Ana and Jim, the Inn-keeper -- and Jim's breakfasts - OMG!!! I didn’t see that one coming! Having worked in the restaurant business in New York when I was younger, I could tell that Jim was trained and Ana took extra care with her service and attention to details.  Most importantly I could tell that Ana and Jim care deeply about their business and about the people you host at the Mount Dora Historic Inn. It was such a pleasure to chat with Ana and the other guests that we arrived at the antique extravaganza an hour later than we anticipated each morning, simple because Ana’s hosting and the guests conversations were so enjoyable. I'm looking forward to meeting the client who is interested in this type of Shabby Chic wedding so I can come back to Mt. Dora and the Historic Inn.

Ringling November Wedding - by Keren Lifrak Wedding Design and Planning

December 2nd, 2011

Keren Lifrak Weddings & Special events

While I'm waiting for the "real" pictures from the Vue chicks for this magnificent 1920's November Wedding at the Ringling Museum, I borrowed this photos from Diva Productions, the video artists. I have one word for the record: FEATHERS. Seriously now, this was a super fun wedding to work on because the bride and groom trusted us so completely that we got to play around, show our true colors (yes, just like the Peacock!) and do what we do best plan and design events! More detailed pictures to come soon.

Ellie's Belly - Baby Shower

December 1st, 2011

Keren Lifrak Flowers floral design_Cat Penenga_Ellie P. Campbell

A few weeks ago my dear friend Ellie had her baby shower. Ellie is a fabulous photographer and her talented sister had arranged her shower at one of our favorite girly spots -- Shoogie boogie's. Dana set up a really cute game where each one of he guests had to bring a baby picture of themselves. The guests had to full in a sheet and guess who was who. That kept us all busy for a while...  i did the flowers and Cat Pennenga was of course on the camera.

Merry Meals at Selby Gardens by Keren Lifrak

One of the things we've implemented this year at "Lights in Bloom" -- Merry Meals! Selby Botanical Gardens' holiday extravaganza, kids (and parents) will be able to enjoy "Merry Meals." Families that come to the garden to enjoy the holiday decoration and activities won't have to rush out after sunset to make it home for dinner. Now they can enjoy the celebration AND have dinner at the Lights in Bloom Cafe and Carriage House. Hot chocolate, grilled foods, spiced popcorn... and Merry Meals. Come on down... the more the merrier!

"All Together Now" -- Chanukah and Kwanzaa join Christmas in bloom at Selby Gardens During "Lights in Bloom"

Chanukah and Kwanzaa celebration at Selby Botanical Gardens in Sarasota - by Keren Lifrak

Aside from fabulous private events and weddings, this year I've joined the development team at Selby Gardens and working on building their public events and sponsorships. Lights in Bloom, Selby's holiday light extravaganza will take place this holiday season December 16-23, 26 and 27. With the all inclusive spirit of the holiday, I've invited the Jewish Federation to partner with us and celebrate Chanukah at the gardens for the first time. Chabad of Sarasota and Bradenton will be there nightly to light the menorah, sing songs and play games. Similarly, the North Sarasota Library is joining us in celebrating the African-American holiday of Kwanzaa for the first time. Dr. Lonnetta Gaines, artist in residence will join us for story telling, answering questions and education about this holiday on December 18th. All "holidays of lights" joining their light at Selby Gardens this December 2011.
