While I'm waiting for the "real" pictures from the Vue chicks for this magnificent 1920's November Wedding at the Ringling Museum, I borrowed this photos from Diva Productions, the video artists. I have one word for the record: FEATHERS. Seriously now, this was a super fun wedding to work on because the bride and groom trusted us so completely that we got to play around, show our true colors (yes, just like the Peacock!) and do what we do best plan and design events! More detailed pictures to come soon.

A few weeks ago my dear friend Ellie had her baby shower. Ellie is a fabulous photographer and her talented sister had arranged her shower at one of our favorite girly spots -- Shoogie boogie's. Dana set up a really cute game where each one of he guests had to bring a baby picture of themselves. The guests had to full in a sheet and guess who was who. That kept us all busy for a while...  i did the flowers and Cat Pennenga was of course on the camera.

One of the things we've implemented this year at "Lights in Bloom" -- Merry Meals! Selby Botanical Gardens' holiday extravaganza, kids (and parents) will be able to enjoy "Merry Meals." Families that come to the garden to enjoy the holiday decoration and activities won't have to rush out after sunset to make it home for dinner. Now they can enjoy the celebration AND have dinner at the Lights in Bloom Cafe and Carriage House. Hot chocolate, grilled foods, spiced popcorn... and Merry Meals. Come on down... the more the merrier!

Aside from fabulous private events and weddings, this year I've joined the development team at Selby Gardens and working on building their public events and sponsorships. Lights in Bloom, Selby's holiday light extravaganza will take place this holiday season December 16-23, 26 and 27. With the all inclusive spirit of the holiday, I've invited the Jewish Federation to partner with us and celebrate Chanukah at the gardens for the first time. Chabad of Sarasota and Bradenton will be there nightly to light the menorah, sing songs and play games. Similarly, the North Sarasota Library is joining us in celebrating the African-American holiday of Kwanzaa for the first time. Dr. Lonnetta Gaines, artist in residence will join us for story telling, answering questions and education about this holiday on December 18th. All "holidays of lights" joining their light at Selby Gardens this December 2011.

In two weeks Ashley and Jaime will celebrate this grand wedding at the Ringling Museum. One of my favorite features is something I came up with for this 1920's, peacock feathered extravaganza -- a cake that features the architectural details of the Ca d'Zan. I can only imagine what the real deal will look like... I for one can't wait!

 While I'm anxiously waiting on the gorgeous photos from Kristen and Brett's Wedding at the Sarasota Yacht Club by the lovely CA photographer nightingalephotos.com, Florida earlier this month, I couldn't help posting this adorable picture of Kristen and her Dad, Greg as they make their way down the aisle! I'm not in the habit of posting sobbing pics but this one was simply cute!

While the lovely and talented Ellie P. Campbell is working on the actual wedding photos, we are starting from the end, moving backwards! Misty wanted a "Trash the Dress" photo session the next morning which turned into this whole adorable shoot... which simply reminds me why Sarasota is such a paradise for destination weddings! Jennifer and Christian came to Sarasota to get married at the Ca d'Zan from LA. Not only was it a super sweet wedding (literally... candy bar and all) but I couldn't have asked to work with sweeter people who deserved a perfect wedding. The couple works at Lionsgate (yes... that Lionsgate... "Mad Men" and all), and has impeccable taste!! Jennifer's Mom recruited all of grandma's vintage broaches to the occasion for her rehearsal bouquet and everything from Jenn's bridal version of "Over the Rainbow" shoes (that was played during the ceremony, naturally), to the vintage Rolls-Royce and catering by Treviso. Of course, it doesn't hurt to have your pictures taken by the super talent Kitty Cat -- Cat Pennenga Photography which just makes the memories so much sweeter! I can't wait to see the rest of it!
